Little dwarfs
We have as many as 20 little dwarves, 3-5 years old, in the preschoolers group! Here we dance, sing and learn together with 3 dwarf-adults.
Dwarves are the oldest and most active in the nursery, so they are located on the second floor and occupy the entire great hall. So huge that you can not only dance, sing, perform plays, but also play chase or hide-and-seek and many more. In addition to fun, here we also have tables where all the children sit down to study: writing letters, naming numbers, drawing and coloring, cutting and gluing, kneading clay or play-dough, solving puzzles and much more.
And when the Dwarves become tired of all the fun and want to rest their heads we simply “lower” one wall in the group and thus separate ourselves for a time of peace from those who no longer want to rest. Also all children have their own beds with sleeping bags and a separate hygiene room, just like in the Rain drops group.
Preschool 3-5 y. (Nykstukai) group daily schedule
7:00 – 8:00 Early morning session – for children who arrived an hour earlier – welcome and free play.
8:00 – 9:00 Most children have arrived and been registered.
9:00 – 9:30 Breakfast.
9:30 – 09:50 Free play and settling-in time. Children socialise with peers and staff and settle down their day.
09:50 – 10:15 Circle time.
10:15 – 10:30 Mid–morning snack time.
10:30 – 11:00 Tasks, craft activities, learning Lithuanian and English languages, maths, literacy and understanding the world.
11:00 – 12:00 Outdoor play, child initiated free play / adult led activity.
12:00 – 12:30 Lunch time.
12:30 – 12:45 Getting ready to rest time.
12:45 – 15:00 Sleep / rest time.
15:00 – 15:15 Afternoon snack.
15:15 – 16:00 Free play, dancing.
16:00 – 16:30 Tea time.
16:30 – 17:10 Story time / role play and rhymes.
17:10 – 18:00 Outside / Inside adult led activity and child initiated free play.
18:00 Setting closes.
